Update
Hey everyone,
Sorry i haven't been around much this year so far but I really haven't done any reading at all.
I have lots of fun, new things going on and reading has really been put on the back burner.
In terms of when I will be back I am really not sure but maybe I will do a movie review or two or talk more about tv shows instead of books.
Please leave any suggestions below and thank you for sticking with me.
Leigh xoxo

January 2014 - Wrap-Up
Hey everyone,
I'm back again and I cannot believe that it's the end of January already. This month I did a little bit of reading and managed a grand total of 3 books,
The first book that I read was Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris.
This book for those of you who are not familiar with the series is the final installment in the Southern Vampire Mysteries series upon which True Blood was based. This final book had a really nice little ending that really wrapped everything up nicely and i'm so glad to have completed the series because it was a really good one.
The second book that I read was the Yorkshire Pudding Club by Milly Johnson.
As always with Milly Johnson this book was really good, the plot and characters were so easy to get into and it was the kind of book that I always want to read just one more page, it got to stages where I was literally falling asleep and forcing my eyes open just to finish another chapter, this is maybe why at one point this month I nearly fell asleep at my desk in work.
The third and final book that I read in January was City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.
After watching the film I just had to get this book even though I was breaking my book buying ban and it really was a brilliant book, I felt like I connected with the characters quicker than if I had not seen the film first but for me that took over the feeling of sussing them all out and I felt like I could enjoy the story line more. The whole book was a real page turner again and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series even if I am forcing myself to read another book that I already have in between.
Anyway that's all from me this month,
Leigh xoxo

The Tudors - TV Review
Hey everyone
I'm back with another TV review for you all, this week it's for The Tudors. I'm relatively new to this series having only discovered it two days ago but so far i'm really enjoying it and so I wanted to share my thoughts.
This series began in April 2007 and the final episode aired In 2010, the series is 4 seasons long each containing 10 episodes so it shouldn't take me long to get through it.
So far i'm seriously enjoying this series, which I mainly started because of my new favourite actor, I was a fan of the white queen and I find history more interesting now than I did when I was at school. This series has plenty of scandals, sex and violence which may not appeal to everyone but I really like it.
In terms of characters I have a firm favourite by far which is King Henry VIII
Of course Jonathan Rhys Meyers makes him all the more interesting compared to the real Henry VIII because he is distinctly better looking. He is intelligent, charming and a bit of a bad boy which obviously I cannot resist. In terms of acting apart from Jonathan not looking very much like the real King he portrays him very well, he seems to me to be a bit of a womanizer to say the least.
As of right now i'm not set on a least favourite character because I love them all in their own ways and so I can't choose one that I really dislike.
Anyway I recommend this to anyone who enjoyed The White Queen because essentially it's the grandchildren of Elizabeth and Edward which The White Queen mainly focuses on. Also I think people who like Game of Thrones might like this too, although it doesn't have the fantasy element that GOT has.

The Yorkshire Pudding Club by Milly Johnson - Review
Hey everyone,
So this will be my first review of 2014 which is exciting (also still can't get used to putting a 4 instead of a 3) and so far this is the second book that I have read so far this year and it's only been 12 days!
This book is another Milly Johnson classic and is absolutely perfect just like every one of her other novels. The story is sweet and interesting and really kept me intrigued as to what was going to happen through the the story, another one that I struggled to put down at night to eventually go to sleep. This is the kind of book that had me forcing my eyelids open just to read a few more pages.
Three South Yorkshire friends, all on the cusp of 40, fall pregnant at the same time following a visit to an ancient fertility symbol. For Helen, it's a dream come true, although her husband is not as thrilled about it as she had hoped. Not only wrestling with painful ghosts of the past, Helen has to deal with the fact that her outwardly perfect marriage is crumbling before her eyes. For Janey, it is an unmitigated disaster as she has just been offered the career break of a life-time. And she has no idea either how it could possibly have happened, seeing as she and her ecstatic husband George were always so careful over contraception. For Elizabeth, it is mind-numbing, because she knows people like her shouldn't have children. Damaged by her dysfunctional childhood and emotionally lost, she not only has to contend with carrying a child she doubts she can ever love, but she also has to deal with the return to her life of a man whose love she must deny herself. Heart-warming, up-lifting, tear-jerking and lovely, THE YORKSHIRE PUDDING CLUB is the story of how three women find themselves empowered by unexpected pregnancy. How it revitalises one woman's tired marriage, strengthens another's belief in herself and brings love and warmth to a cold and empty life.
As with other of Milly Johnson's books this one tells the story from multiple perspectives which is something that I love, I feel like I get to know the characters on a more personal level and really feel like I can connect with them because I am learning their stories of their pasts as well as the present without seeing it through the eyes of one character.
As expected it takes a little while to get to grips with these characters and to remember who is who and what past story relates to which character but in the end I feel a strong connection to all of them equally.
PLOT
In terms of story this one is focused on the lives of three best friends each with different ideas about families and children who all end up pregnant around the same time, this book tells the story of their pasts leading up to the pregnancy, their partners and love lives as well as their careers and their three very different takes on parenthood. I find that their personalities really come across well throughout the book and as I read more I found that I could distinguish the character by their personality alone. Each of the girls have their own problems and so by having the three separate perspectives we can really get to grips with these problems and their own individual ways of dealing with them whether it be unloading to someone or bottling them up.
CHARACTERS
Elizabeth - Elizabeth was never one to want children and when she ends up pregnant she is unsure about the whole thing, we learn of her past relationships as well as about her family troubles that she had growing up and it really helps us to see why she is the way she is and the reasons for her flaws in her personality and how the pregnancy and the help of her friends really helps her to grow.
Helen - Helen is in a loving relationship with her husband Simon but when she gets pregnant things between them change, she has always wanted a child more than anything and for her the decision to have the baby was always what she wanted, however now she is struggling with her marriage and must make a choice about the important things in her life her friends? her unborn baby? or her husband?
Janey - Janey was another character who was never planning on becomming a mother but when it happened she eventually came around to the idea much to the delight of her husband George who has always wanted children, we hear again of her life with him and how having a baby brings them closer together than they have ever been but she has always been very career focused and has to choose between her career and her baby.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes any of Milly Johnson's other books as well as Jenny Colgan and Alexandra Potter as these books never fail to make me laugh and cry all at the same time while also plastering a huge smile on my face.

Dracula - TV Review
Hey everyone,
So i'm back with another post about the TV Programmes that I love, today i'm here with a brand new programme that has just started recently and that i'm a huge fan of. Dracula is currently on it's first season and I absolutely adore it.
Vampire programmes really appeal to me and so this one is no different, all that I ask for is a good looking lead character and i'm all over that. the programme is a little on the gory side but i'm still really enjoying it.
In terms of characters there is really no competition as to who is my favourite. Mr Alexander Grayson, he is charismatic, charming, intelligent and hotter than hell. He is by far the best thing in the whole programme and Jonathon Rhys Meyers does a really good job portraying Dracula.
In terms of least favourite characters i'd have to say Harker, not to say that he's not good looking but he seems to be too goody goody for me and really I just want Grayson and Mina together, they are definitely a pair that I ship other than Grayson and myself that is....
All in all if you love the vampire shows then this is definitely one to watch, as you all know i'm a huge Vampire Diaries/Originals/True Blood fan and this is definitely one of the best.
I urge everyone to give this one a go because it really is remarkable.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - TV Review
Hey everyone, I'm back with another post about the TV Programmes that I love.
Today's post is a little bit of a guilty pleasure simply because i'm fascinated by the lives of the rich and famous.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was started in 2010 and is currently in it's 4th season. From this programme you can expect catty behavior and lots of fights. These girls are ruthless! With each new season comes new cast members and so this season we have 2 new girls. I find myself constantly changing my mind about which of the girls I like and which ones I hate because they can all change in the blink of an eye.
The character that I like the most at the minute is a controversial one, Brandi Glanville. Personally I think she knows exactly what these girls are like and doesn't take any of their nonsense. I think she is a truly strong and independent girl and I actually really like her (Plus she's absolutely stunning).
Another character which has been a firm favourite since season 1 is Lisa Vanderpump, she's a very classy lady who is also independent and knows who her friends are and who they are not.
In terms of least favourite characters i'd have to say is Kim Richards, to me she just seems annoying and is someone that I wouldn't personally get on with although i'm sure she's a lovely girl.
All in all out of all of the "Real Housewives" I've never managed to get into a series like I have with this one, these girls are definitely the ones to beat and I absolutely adore this programme.
